peer outreach lead

Steven is a gay man and the peer outreach lead for the Peer N Peer (PNP) program.

His work offers 2SLBGTQ+ community members services and resources with open arms and without judgement. Steven has lived experience with substance use and sex work, and works with the QTHC out of his passion for all issues affecting the 2SLBGTQ+ community whether it be health, social, political, and others.

“Being a substance user for 22 years and a sex worker for 10, I offer a unique perspective and a level of understanding of our participants situation which creates a degree of compassion and empathy unlike anything a person without said lived experience can offer.”

In his spare time, Steven is an artist, a fitness enthusiast, and a reader. He enjoys to dance, and loves camping, the outdoors, and building things.

The QTHC is based in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (ᐊᒥᐢᑲᐧᒋᐋᐧᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ) within Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting ground and home of the Nêhiyaw (Cree), Denesuliné (Dene), Nahkawininiwak (Saulteaux), Niitsítapi (Blackfoot), and Îyârhe Nakoda (Nakota Sioux), as well as nations not represented by the treaty, and is located in Region 4 of the Métis Nation of Alberta.
