SEXUAL HEALTH

It can be hard to find accurate, up-to-date, and culturally sensitive sexual health information for queer and trans folks. At the QTHC, we’re trying to make it easier for you.

MENTAL HEALTH

Mental health is finally getting the attention it deserves, with people beginning to understand the impact that mental health has on the rest of a person’s life, including their physical health. Conversations about mental health become even more important when we begin to look at minority populations, like queer and trans folk, who have been shown to experience negative mental health outcomes at significantly higher rates than the general population.

substance use

Peer N Peer (PNP) is a peer-led queer substance use program, offered by the QTHC. Rooted in harm reduction principles, PNP meets folks where they're at on their substance use journey. Whether you're looking to use substances more safely, change how substance use impacts your sex life, or stop using substances altogether, the PNP team is here for you.

physical health

You only get one body. So, it’s really important that you take care of it. In our physical health section, we cover a range of topics related to the health of your physical body. These topics generally fall into two different areas. One of these areas includes topics like nutrition and physical fitness/exercise. The other includes a range of physical health issues which impact queer and trans people at different rates or in different ways than their cisgender or heterosexual counterparts, such as certain types of cancers.

SOCIAL HEALTH & QUEER IDENTITIES

When we talk about social health, we’re talking about someone’s health as it relates to how they get along with others, whether or not they have a support system, and whether or not society provides them with accessible opportunities to meet their basic needs and experience positive health and well-being.

TRANS & NON-BINARY HEALTH

Transgender and non-binary folks are an integral part of our community. Yet, to this day they face unique challenges surrounding their health and well-being. Accessing gender affirming care can be difficult and fraught with complex issues. Simultaneously, gender diverse folks can face great difficulty navigating social aspects of their health. It can be difficult finding gender affirming gear, accessing fitness spaces, and legally and socially transitioning.
