The EMHC is seeking a new Program Coordinator to support the coordination of its Peer N Peer Program. Peer N Peer (PNP) is a peer-led 2SLGBTQ+ substance use and sexual health program. Rooted in harm reduction principles, PNP meets folks where they're at on their substance use and sexual health journey. Whether community members are looking to use substances more safely, change how substance use impacts their sex life, or stop using substances altogether, the PNP team is here for them through a variety of programming, including: safer substance use education, one-on-one counselling and support, online screening and referral, access to harm reduction supplies, and system navigation.
Key responsibilities of the Program Coordinator role include:
The Program Coordinator will support supervision of Peer N Peer program Peer Outreach Workers, including the delegation of program tasks and responsibilities.
The Program Coordinator will support the ongoing support of a Community Advisory Team of 2SLGBTQ+ people with lived experience of substance use. This includes the development of meeting agendas which reflect project needs and interests of participants
The Program Coordinator will identify and foster relationships with a broad range of project stakeholders, including community-based organizations, healthcare providers, and public health professionals.
The Program Coordinator will oversee the collection and storage of program evaluation data.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing ongoing community education and stakeholder capacity-building content development and dissemination.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing project activities including: online screening, referral, and support; motivational interviewing counselling; and a series of outreach activities including online outreach, facilitating community education sessions, and distributing harm reduction supplies.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the collection and management of confidential client data and information in adherence with relevant policies.
Qualifications:
Education
A Bachelor Degree in the area of Social Work or Health and Social Services is desired
Project Management/Coordination education or designated is an asset
Other relevant certifications (i.e. First Aid, Suicide Prevention, etc.)
Experience
1-3 years’ experience coordinating community projects/programs desired
1-3 years’ experience providing frontline support to vulnerable populations desired (i.e. social work, counselling)
Knowledge of and/or experience working in the fields of 2SLGBTQ+ health, HIV/HCV/STBBIs, and/or substance use desired
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management desired
Experience facilitating education and capacity-building events is desired
Lived experience as a member of the priority population(s) is an asset

Salary: $50,000/year
Hours: 35 hours/week
Term: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
Location: Edmonton (mix of home/office-based work and in-person work with clients and other staff, dependent on COVID context)
