Operations Coordinator
Courtenay is a queer, white settler, Operations Coordinator on Treaty Six Territory. They support QTHC’s day-to-day operations through project coordination, cross-team communication, and executive support. They help organize QTHC’s internal systems—including the membership program and community outreach initiatives—and contribute to fundraising and strategic planning efforts.
Courtenay also provides hands-on support for the Spectrum Drug Testing program and collaborates across departments to meet the evolving needs of the community. Their work is grounded in values of harm reduction, accessibility, 2SLGBTQIA+ health, sex positivity, and kink-informed education.
Before joining QTHC, Courtenay worked as a Primary Care Paramedic, primarily within a Supervised Consumption Site. It was there that they discovered a deep passion for harm reduction and community care. This experience led them to shift paths and pursue a degree in Psychology and Gender Studies at University of Alberta, with the goal of reducing barriers to mental health supports for marginalized communities.
Outside of work and school, Courtenay is a solar-powered human who thrives in the sunshine. She’s currently learning fire spinning and getting into acro yoga - movement and play are a big part of how they connect with themself and others. She loves being outdoors, sipping on a good coffee, and getting to adventure with her dog, Piper.
