Canada’s ‘Good Samaritan Act’ act provides some legal protection for anyone experiencing or responding to a drug poisoning. If you call 911 because of a drug poisoning, you can’t be charged for possession. Please note, you can request no police presence when calling. You’re also protected from breach of conditions regarding simple possession (for example, if you’re on parole). But you should know it doesn’t protect you from outstanding warrants, producing or trafficking substances, and other illegal activities. You can find out more here.
