All of us can age with dignity and pride
Canada’s population is aging, and that’s the same for people living with HIV. Advancements in treating HIV mean that folks living with HIV are now living longer lives, and many are being diagnosed at later points in their life. About 50% of HIV-positive people in Canada are now over the age of 50, and that number is expected to increase in the future.
While there is a lot to look forward to as we age, there are also unique challenges. These challenges may be more pronounced or be entirely different for those living with HIV. Let's examine more closely what can lie ahead for folks living with HIV as they grow older, and how they can care for their health.
