The Queer & Trans Health Collective (QTHC) seeks a part-time Co-Coordinator for the 2024/2025 cycle of the Investigaytors program.
Investigaytors isa journey into the basics of community-based research. Participants learn about various research methods, data collection and analysis, research ethics, anti-oppressive research approaches, and more. The program culminates in hands-on research experience in which participants develop and undertake an original research project for one of our community partners.
Regular responsibilities of the Co-Coordinator include:
Attending program specific and general meetings.
Leading the development, delivery, and facilitation of Investigaytors workshops.
Administering evaluation tools.
Acting as a point of contact for program participants.
Following up with program participants via email to ensure program engagement.
Supporting the development and implementation of a community-based research project.
Supporting the collection and storage of data.
Supporting the creation of knowledge translation and exchange materials and dissemination of the data at a community-facing event.
QTHC is offering 6-8 hours per week at $28/hour. This position runs from mid-August 2024 to mid-April 2025. During this timeframe, applicants must be available to lead a weekly two-hour workshop (either Wednesday evenings or Thursday evenings) at the QTHC’s office space (10526 Jasper Ave NW). Additionally, applicants must be available to help implement a weekend-long research bootcamp in September (either September 7th/8th or September 14th/15th).
Former qualitative and quantitative research training is an asset.
Former research experience (particularly community-based research with 2S/LGBTQIA+ populations) is an asset.
Former experience developing, delivering, and facilitating educational workshops is an asset.
Priority will be given to a candidate who is a member of the 2S/LGBTQIA+ community.
