About the Peer N Peer Program:
Peer N Peer (PNP) is a pioneering program by the QTHC that addresses queer substance use and sexual health through a peer-led approach. Rooted in harm reduction principles, PNP is dedicated to meeting individuals wherever they are on their substance use journey. The program offers a range of supports and services including safer substance use education, one-on-one counselling & support, access to MyBuzz.ca for confidential self-assessment, and free harm reduction supplies. We are now also integrating the Spectrum Drug Testing Program into our services to further our support for the community.
Job Description:
We are seeking a creative and dedicated Designer (Contractor) to develop digital and print materials for the Peer N Peer Program and the Spectrum Drug Testing Program. The ideal candidate will have experience in graphic design, a passion for community health, and a commitment to 2SLGBTQ+ inclusivity and harm reduction.
**Those with lived experience as being part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and use substances/access harm reduction support, or have experience working in harm reduction are strongly encouraged to apply**
Responsibilities:
Working with QTHC’s Harm Reduction and Program Development Manager to develop, implement, monitor, and execute QTHC’s digital communications strategy and visual representation of QTHC, Peer N Peer and associated projects, initiatives and campaigns;
Design digital and print materials, including educational content, reports, and promotional materials.
Design branding templates and guides for our programming with input from individuals in our Community Advisory Team.
Coordinate various aspects of creative, including copy, design and content development, in a community focused and authentic way that reflects QTHCs values;
Translate data and research findings into engaging visuals.
Work collaboratively with the program team to ensure materials align with our mission and values.
Design and moderate engaging, community based social media content.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams or external vendors to ensure execution of digital and/or visual communications when needed;
Provide additional support to other projects and activities led by the Harm Reduction Team.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), PowerPoint, Canva.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in an area related to graphic design, marketing and communications (demonstrated equivalent work experience may be considered).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Experience working with and/or lived experience with the 2SLGBTQ+ community and knowledge of harm reduction principles preferred.
Capacity to prioritize tasks and function under tight and/or competing deadlines;
